Bellator 178 Coverage

Welcome to our Bellator 178 coverage! And in this corner…

Hello to the fans of Octagon 24/7.  I’m moving up in the world!  This is John, regretfully known on MMA Fancast as “Johnny Stats”, and I’ve broken through as a guest of the show, to actually (trying to) contribute to the site and it’s Bellator 178 coverage.

I’m along for the ride to Mohegan Sun for Bellator 187 coverage tonight, April 21, 2017, live on Spike TV!  Along with the weigh ins yesterday, this is my first time attending any MMA events.  I’ve followed fights for a few years, but by no means do I claim to know the ins and outs of the MMA game.  I am looking forward to just passing along what little knowledge I have for the site, and appreciate any input from fans!

Now…let’s get to the important issues!  The weigh ins were enjoyable, and I appreciated Jimmy Smith’s interviews of each fighter from the Main Card.  He did a great job especially with Jessica Middleton, warming her up a bit to help ease her into it.  She responded well, answering his question by explaining that she preferred to let her fists do the talking!  Anyhow, we have full video of the weigh in, as well as tons of pictures on the site for you to enjoy!

As for the cage tonight…15 fights!!!!  11 prelims, and 4 on the main card.  The prelims will be streamed live on (7 pm start)
(My apologies for the delay…just had to film an interview with Royce Gracie!!!!!! for the site!),
followed by the main card on Spike TV at 9 pm.  (seriously, Royce Gracie…still trying to come back down to earth.)
The prelims have some interesting bouts, from those just getting into the pro ranks, along with some strong collegiate wrestlers (Tyrell Fortune and Ed Ruth).  The main card features Dominic Mazzotta vs AJ McKee in a Featherweight bout.  Ryan Quinn takes on Saad Awad in a Lightweight fight.  The Flyweight Women’s division will be represented by Jessica Middleton vs Ilima-Lei MacFarlane.  The night will be capped off by a Featherweight Title Fight between Patricio Pitbull and defending champion Daniel Straus, marking their 4th tussle in the cage!
Looking forward to an exciting night from an amazing venue in the Mohegan Sun Casino/Arena in Connecticut.  Stay tuned for  plenty more Bellator 178 coverage from your friends at Octagon 24/7!
Thanks for following along with us!
